Saving St Edmund’s – we need your help...Everyone in Sedgefield benefits from the Church – even if it’s just to check the time on the tower clock. St Edmund’s is a magnificent building that characterises Sedgefield, attracts visitors from over a wide area, and is one reason why so many people want to live in the town. It’s also a great asset to the community and it’s unthinkable that it should ever fall into disrepair and become an eyesore! That’s why The Friends of Saint Edmund’s group was formed. Its primary role is to safeguard the fabric of the ancient building by raising funds to ensure that the Church can be preserved for generations to come, irrespective of an individual’s religious commitment. However, the cost of maintaining such a large building is huge and help is needed from everyone in the community, as well as visitors, if it is to continue to be a unique local asset. You can help by joining the team of Friends. Please note: All enquiries relating to baptisms, marriages etc should be made to the parish office.tel: 01429 882115 email: upperskerne@gmail.com
